Congratulations to Ethan Hyme, Fairfield Union 2021, for selecting Wright State University - Lake Campus, Celina, Ohio, to continue his academic pursuits and play college baseball! Wright State University - Lake Campus' team is known as the 'Lakers' and competes in the tough United States Collegiate Athletic Association, which culminates into the USCAA Small College World Series. Teams that the Lakers face during the season include Kent State - Tuscarawas, Clark State Community College and Cincinnati - Clermont. This is high-level, competitive baseball!

Going to college and playing college baseball is a big deal for anyone and Post 11 is very happy for Ethan and proud of his accomplishment. He has certainly worked hard and deserves it!

Ethan has played with Post 11 since 14u and was an integral part of the successful 2020 COVID squad that landed a respectable 30 and 18 season. During the 2020 season, Ethan played hard for his teammates and accumulated some very impressive stats along the way: He played in 47 games and amassed 106ABs; led the team in OBP at .604, led the team in AVG at .443; led the team in 2B at 14; led the team in BB at 24; led the team in HBP at a whopping 22!!; hit 2HRs; was second on the team in TB at 69; and was third on the team in RBIs at 30. Defensively, Ethan had the most innings played at 271; had a FP of .997; and shut down the opponents running game with an exceptional pop-time and arm to catch 13 baserunners stealing and an overall CSP of .27. Congratulations, Ethan, on an incredible season and making such significant contributions to your team. Your energy, enthusiasm and dedication is remarkable! Additionally, Ethan was one of several Post 11 players scouted last summer by on-looking colleges. Post 11 is honored that Ethan is returning for the 2021 season before he heads off to WSU - Lake Campus to catch for the Lakers.

Which college have you committed to? I have committed to Wright State University–Lake campus, Celina, Ohio.

Have you picked a major yet? If so, what is it and why did you choose it? My major is middle-childhood education and I have selected this major because I want kids to gain more knowledge about school and the real world.

How does it feel to know that you’ll be going to college and why? I’m exiting to go to college and move on to the next chapter in my life.

What is your favorite thing about the college you chose and why? My favorite thing is that it’s a small campus and it’s in a town just like Lancaster.

How do you see yourself contributing to your new college baseball team? I feel like I’m going to contribute a blue collar work ethic and I hope others are going to do the same thing. I don’t know a lot about the coach and the staff but one thing I can see is that they appreciate the people that put the work in, give a good effort and have a good attitude.

What do think will be the most challenging about college baseball? I think the hardest thing about college baseball is balancing classes and baseball.

How does it feel to be facing your final year of school ball? It is a little scary thinking it’s my last year of school ball but it’s just another season of the sport that I love so I’m not going to approach it differently. I’m just going to go out there and have fun on the field with my teammates.

Will you approach your final year of school ball and summer ball differently now that you are a committed college baseball player? I will approach this season with a higher standard for myself.

What advice would you give other Post 11 players going through the recruiting process and considering a college baseball career? The best thing for guys looking to get recruited, put yourself out there so someone can find you.

What do you think will be the first thing you do when you get to campus? Get a feel for my room and all of my house mates.

Prediction – how many all-nighters do you think you’ll pull in your freshman year in college? No comment.
