Congratulations to Dylan Winkler, Berne Union 2022, for selecting Wright State University - Lake Campus, Celina, Ohio, to continue his academic pursuits and play college baseball! Wright State University - Lake Campus' team is known as the 'Lakers' and competes in the tough United States Collegiate Athletic Association, which culminates into the USCAA Small College World Series. Teams that the Lakers face during the season include Kent State - Tuscarawas, Clark State Community College and Cincinnati - Clermont. This is high-level, competitive baseball!

Going to college and playing college baseball is a big deal for anyone and Post 11 is very happy for Dylan and proud of his accomplishment. He has certainly worked hard and deserves it!

This summer will be Dylan's 3rd season with Post 11. He was an integral part of the successful 2021 squad that landed 4th place in the ALB State of Ohio Tournament. During the season Dylan played hard for his teammates and was very successful at the plate, on the mound and in the field: He played in 37 of 43 games with 103ABs on 120PAs; second on the team in RBIs at 20; 8 games on the mound with a solid 3.25ERA against big swinging teams that included guys already playing college ball; .900FP with 107TC. Congratulations, Dylan, on an incredible season and for making such a significant contribution to your team. Your dedication to your teammates was outstanding and your efforts to continuously improve are exemplary. Post 11 is honored Dylan is returning for the 2022 season before he heads off to WSU - Lake Campus to pitch for the Lakers.

Which college have you committed to?  Wright State Lake University

Have you picked a major yet? If so, what is it and why did you choose it? Agriculture, it is an area that has always interested me and something I know I would enjoy.

How does it feel to know that you’ll be going to college and why? It feels good.  I am excited about meeting new people and having the opportunity to work towards something that will eventually be my career.

What is your favorite thing about the college you chose and why?  I liked the feel of the campus and the fact that it is right on the lake.  

How do you see yourself contributing to your new college baseball team?    I hope to make an impact early with pitching staff and help the team in any way I can.

What do you know about your new coach? And, how will you go about getting to know him and his staff and what they expect of a new team member?   I know from talking with Coach Geier that he is expecting big things from me and wants someone who works hard in weight room and will compete on the mound.  I will make sure to continue to listen to what he expects and plan to visit in the spring time to watch a game.

What do think will be the most challenging about college baseball?  Adjusting to a new schedule, balancing class work while getting use to a new program.

How does it feel to be facing your final year of school ball?  Bittersweet.  

Will you approach your final year of school ball and summer ball differently now that you are a committed college baseball player? Yes, I am even more focused to finish strong because we have unfinished business.  I have great teammates on both teams and I am confident with those returning that we will do big things.

What advice would you give other Post 11 players going through the recruiting process and considering a college baseball career?  Believe in yourself, trust your coaches and make sure to work hard no matter what.  Have fun!  Be patient with the recruiting process and don't be afraid to contact the college coaches that you are interested in and continue to follow up.

What do you think will be the first thing you do when you get to campus?  Get to know my new teammates and coaches. 

Prediction – how many all-nighters do you think you’ll pull in your freshman year in college?  Hopefully not too many!!!!!
