Post 11 has a championship season

“It is all about having a winning attitude,” Beavers said. “When you don’t have that attitude it is easy to get in a losing mode and when you get behind, bad thoughts start creeping in. This group thinks they are going to win every time they step on the field.” - Coach Al Beavers

Lancaster Post 11 had a very successful 2017 season, returning to the State Tournament for the first time since 2006 and to a winning record since 2012 with a .622 win percentage:

  • 28-17 overall, 19-6 of its last 25
  • State Tournament semifinalist, placing 3rd overall
  • District 8 League and Tournament Champion
  • 2017 Jim Jadwin Memorial Tournament Semifinalist
  • 2017 Beavers Baseball Classic Tournament Semifinalist

The defense, comprised of the No Fly-Zone, Ground Patrol and its pitching staff (a.k.a. The Saboteurs), combined for a .946 fielding percentage, and a low 3.77 team ERA . The team batted .305 with an on base percentage of .490.

More important than wins, the team had fun! "With this group of kids, the key is they really want to be here and want to play and makes a big difference." - Coach Beavers
