Lancaster Post 11 kicks-off 2018 season Friday, June 1st, 6PM, Beavers Field

Lancaster Post 11 American Legion Baseball kicks-off their 2018 season on Friday, June 1st, 6PM, at Beavers Field in a home opener against the Coshocton Post 65 Cherokees.

Opening night will have several activities, including recognition of Post 11 alumni and area Little League Teams, a 50-50 raffle, giveaways, prizes and merchandise sales. Coach Al Beavers, long-time head coach of Post 11, will throw out the first pitch in celebration of his decades of service to Fairfield County youth baseball.

Post 11 Assistant Coach Tyler Sisson, when asked about opening night, highlighted the recognition of the Post 11 alumni and area Little League Teams. Coach Sisson noted, "Bringing the alumni and future Post 11 players together in the same event ties our history with our future. Post 11 has been Lancaster's Home Town Team since 1949 and we're making investments in the program to keep it a staple of the community and county for years to come."

Post 11 is looking to build on a successful 2017 season that included a 28-17 record overall, 19-6 of their last 25 games, and State Tournament berth where they placed 3rd overall. However, the visiting Cherokees will look to spoil the 2018 opener for Post 11. The Cherokees swept Post 11 last year in an early season double-header.

Beavers Field has a full service concession stand that will be open throughout the evening. There is also has ample lawn seating with two new decks that have been recently added which overlook the field. During the opening night activities, a new project at Beavers Field will be announced.

Please join us at Beavers Field, Friday, June 1st, 6PM for the Lancaster Post 11 home opener!
