You need only to spend a little bit of time at Beavers Field to realize it's a special place. The atmosphere is incredible. The venue and surrounding landscape are beautiful. The grounds are meticulously kept. The competition is good. 

However, Coach Al Beavers, operator and manager of Beavers Field, continues to find ways to make the field more inviting.

"Al spends a lot of time mowing the outfield. As he's mowing, he continually scans the place and comes up with ideas to make it more inviting to fans, to make their experience more enjoyable, and to make the field better for the players.", said general contractor, Mr. Barry Smurr, who helps Coach Beavers realize his vision for Beavers Field.  

Beavers Field was voted 2011 Field of the Year by the Ohio Sports Turf Managers Association, and 2005 High School Field of the Year by the High School Coaches Association.

For 2018, Coach Beavers has added 2 decks that overlook the field, turfed the mound, and replaced the turf in both batters' boxes. "The turfed mound will be better for the players and allow us to play more games in a shorter period of time. We can now turn games around in double headers and tournaments within 15 minutes.", said Coach Beavers.

In a normal year, Beavers Field will host more than 125 games. To date, more than 50 games have already been played.

Beavers Field also has a full service concession stand that features the "Phyllis Burger", a large-sized hamburger seasoned to perfection. If you try one, a large lemonade is an incredible compliment.

Beavers Field is also home to Lancaster Post 11 American Legion Baseball, Lancaster's hometown team since 1949. Post 11's season opener is Friday, June 1st, 6pm, vs. Coshocton. During the opener, plans to further enhance Beavers Field will be announced.
